asphaltic our roofing supplier do a material list but its the labour that can get you
I have had the breakdowns from estimators and it is very good
I intend now to break the items down the way I usually quote and see what the difference is

I'd say we are running at roughly 40% conversion from quote to invoice, quite pleased with that.

Can't you hit the potential client with a standard meter rate to Suss out if they're worth spending time on. Weeds out the time wasters.

I still intend to work through the figures but pricing med-big jobs with up to ten trades is a lengthy and time consuming process
if you get it wrong its a big hit
missing one item can cost you, a mate of mine priced a job but did not include the material for the roof
cost him 5k,basically all his profit on that job
a mate who is a QS wants similar money so no real gain there
cheers LLL
Why are you not using the QS you know and adding his fee to your costs ?

I try and avoid using mates for work related stuff as if it goes wrong you lose a mate too

the QS I know works on 500mil projects in saudi so his knowledge of extensions in the UK is going to be quite limited :)

yes got the job
but of course as you and I know ,I cross-referenced all their prices and timings
they thought 10 weeks and i said 12 so that added a fair wack on
we will not be starting till september so I wont know how much we make but I do know it was worth £125 to get it done, very professional looking presentation

if you PM your personal email I will send you a client copy
cheers LLL
