Hi to all. First post but I have read a lot and learnt a lot so far. I do have a question I need some assistance with though. Can't find it in the search. I am about to lay a calibrated sandstone patio in random. I have been to the yard and got some samples and it seems good stuff. I have stood each end on a brick and it takes my 22 stone bouncing on it! The edges don't crumble either. I have decided on a wettish 6: 1 sharp just enough to to support the flag. 1st question is ( and this links to the 2nd question) should I slurry/ sbr the underside. I am concerned about the flag sucking the moisture from the mix I was thinking of either a 50:50 water sbr mix or a slurry with sbr/ cement - which would be better?
My second concern is how long/how many to lay before balancing joints as described on the main site. I don't want to compromise adhesion but shifting when it has started to adhere and then it won't stick. Sorry for long post. Hope it makes sense and someone can assist

Regards John

John
you generally have to keep the little units tight and the bigger ones with bigger joints if that makes sense
myself and most blokes on here use string lines set at heights and measures to keep things right

Cheers. By doing this I assume the need for shifting them is not there. Does the rest of the plan sound about right? In that case and not being skilled at it I may need to shift it around. What would be the longest you would leave a flag if it needed to be shifted?
Thanks again
