Stihl vs husqvarna

I'm going to be investing in a new cut off saw soon.
I've owned and used both stihl and husqvarna/partner saws and honestly can't make my mind up which I prefer.
Both are around the same price.
Which one do you prefer?

Always found the partner ones a bit oversized looking although im sure they have a better hand vibration rating
if your buying a brand new one might be worth looking at the new stihl 350mm saw as will cut upto 125mm

Yeah, been looking at them. The TS420. Husqvarna do one as well so it's the same dilemma.
Also saw the new T'S 230 9" battery powered cut off saw.
Anything that's light and easy to handle is a bonus but even though batteries are getting better all the time, I can't see one lasting long in a cut off saw.

I have 5 of the TS 410's and the 4 stroke Makita, give me the TS 410's any day for balance and ease of use as both saws weigh about the same

I priced up the TS 230 battery saw last year and the full package of the saw, the guard with the outlet to connect to a hoover including 2 batteries and the larger battery charger came to over Â£700, very expensive when compared to the TS410

Im still using my old trusty ts400 its never let me down my brickie mate has the 410 but seems to flood every now and again

TS400 is a fantastic saw, we used that model for many years without any problems, after you have used the TS410 with the anti vibration its hard to revert back as it feels like its shaking you apart

I really liked the 400, have used the 410 too and have to agree with you Mick.
The husqvarna k760 is also a very good saw. The stihl looks nicer. Should that make a difference? Lol.

Im in no hurry to change mine got a huge list of kit that needs sorting first got to repin and bush the digger, block splitter just gave up friday, our little generator has been playing up

just replaced my 10 year old ts with another stihl. Cannot beat them for reliability. I would suggest try this website :

btw I was hesitant to get the 410 due to early teething problems
but we did and they are great
cord just snapped wednesday after 18 months of almost daily use
I followed mickg's advice and always keep the saw out of the rain,for whatever reason rain does the pullcord

Thanks for the link. I saw that site on a Google search but it's always nice to know of someone who has used the retailer and has positive feedback on them.
I think I'll most likely get a TS410 unless I see a brand new k760 going cheap.

2 of my TS410's are over 2 and a half years old and both still have the original pull cord

I love my ts410. got multiple still tools and a husqy chain saw and small trimmer. All are excellent. Don't know about husq cutters though. I use my stihl A LOT with a ripper blade and it has never failed despite taking a beating.
