Hi there

I have very recently laid some black limestone/sandstone (not sure how the stone is described.) and it looks grey rather than an inhanced black....like it does when it's wet. The grouting, which wS meant to come out black, is more like grey too.

What's the best course of action to take to get everything looking at its best potential? Can one get the slabbing looking clean and black? Obviously I need to jet wash everything to get any if the dust and crap off but what of restoring the colour?

Regards
Simon

Black limestone doesn't stay black for long. It needs sealing.

Sealing? What. Now? I read on here it's best to let it weather for a bit....

Most would advise you to seal it before you lay it. It will go grey eventually anyway. Sealing will delay the process.

Oh I read it the other way on ear. Let it weather for a year. What sealer is best do you reckon?

if you want it to be black you need to use a colour enhancer too not just a sealant.

The boss man did a very comprehensive page on it which can be found here.
