The clients were over the moon on both jobs Tony.

I do like the Savannah LC. The main reason we used them on that job was because I had some left over pewters and savannas from another job and we did a small area leading from the front door to the house with them

He liked that bit so much he asked me to rip up the rest of his drive and do the rest the same way.
The pewters and savannah do sit well together.
The colours on the drive and patio sit well together too.
The client is one I've mentioned before. He does my grab trucks and bulk loads of aggregate.
He has sorted me out with a yard to store my excess materials and kit.
Happy days all round.

Cheers Mark, iit's always hard to judge how long the fiddly jobs will take.
Should have it finished early next week though.

Tony, I know exactly what your going through with that stone.
A few years back leicester train station was being refurbed before the Olympics.
And it was all granite setts and the same York stone you'vyou've been working with.
I spent 2 weeks doing 12 hour shifts 7pm til 7am lifting the stuff and palatising it on my $#÷^ing own.
Some of the were the size of sodding doors.
Lost a few fingernails on that job.
Like you say though it's lovely stuff to work with.

thing is this stuff may have been reclaimed twice already
the current owners had it moved from the front to the rear garden 20 years ago but it is way too smooth for the age of the house

problem is last time it was laid on an inch of sand and mud!
on 3 inches of concrete now

Cuts are a pita sometimes but they always seem worth it in the end.
I can't recall any of my customers noticing the extra time Ive put into cuts but I'll keep doing them anyway. I did have a mitred sett corner confused with breakages once !!

Usually more concerned with where the bins are gonna go !!

Even though you've laid the stone on 3" of concrete, that stuff could still be reclaimed years down the line Tony.
Can you imagine what the pavers that first laid them flags would say it you gave them a crate of the stuff we get these days.
I honestly think they would laugh.

Dempsy, I know where your coming from.
Even though I did a detailed drawing the client has been out twice to say it wasn't what he expected. He thought the paved area would be bigger and it looks different to the drawing.
Not your doing a great job on the cuts.

How he couldn't see what he going to get after looking at a 3D model is beyond me.
