Hi guys.
I've be a flagger for best part of 25 years. I've been cards in, self employed and a one man band over them years. Over the winter when things go quiet I usually look about on indeed to see if anyone is looking for flaggers or landscapers. I found one job, although the money was terrible I thought better to be in work than out.
On the first day the boss turns up and takes us to the job. He said the skip has been ordered and the gear will be here later. The job was 60sqm, 50mm plaspave block. the skip hadn't arrived by 1 o'clock , so i called them, "I'm on it" he said.
At 3:30 a 4 ton skip shows up. I don't think even Derren Brown could make you believe a 60sqm rip out would fit in a 4 ton skip.
Next day the rest of the materials had arrived, 2 ton grit, 4 ton 40mm granular hardcore.
So I now know they have no clue what they are doing (the main guy has been on the T.V, I kid you not). I bit my lip till Friday and decided I was not going back.
As yet I haven't been paid. As I was self employed I have no idea where I stand on this matter or whether I will ever see that money again.
has anyone got any ideas?.
Cheers, Lee

if someone knocks you like this its a rock and a hard place
if you do as sean alludes you may well end up in prison, a mate of mine got arrested recently as a guy owed him 3k and he rang him up
next day thames valley police were at his door
he now has an injunction on him not to contact or go near the fella
you could try small claims court
cheers LLL

Small claims, can do it all online in England.
Money claim
Easy to get the win, good luck getting the money after that though - most the knob ends that you have to chase through small claims know the procedure and have their assets in someone elses name.
I prefer Sean's method.
