Hi
I have a concrete back yard that I wish to spruce up.

My questions are......

Can I lay slate slabs directly over the pre-existing concrete?

What would I use to fix them down.....a sand/cement mix or something
Else as concrete is already down?

Help and advice gratefully received.

Thanks!

Yes lay over existing concrete, depending on its condition and whether you can achieve 150mm below damp course. Sand cement mix, prime the underside of the slabs with sbr or dare I say pva so they stick to the mix. Wet mix is best and stickyerer. :p

You may need to consider more than the above though. Drainage, falls, pattern etc
