Marshalls standard sandstone question.

After looking in the 2015 marshalls brochure I've ordered 5 packs of buff multi standard sandstone.

I thought I'd ordered 22mm calibrated in 15.25m2 packs.
Turns out I'm getting thin , 15-25mm in 11.25m2 packs.
now I'm 25m2 short and the sandstone isn't the thickness the client is expecting.
I can't call Marshall till Monday and that is the day the stone is being delivered.
Has anyone had any experience with this stone?
I'm dubiouse about laying anything 15mm thick.
If the stone is good I'll use it and order another 3 packs.

according to the info file the buff multi is not a available in the 15mmm - 25mm

its 22mm calibrated

also according to the info file the m2 of the various flag sizes in each crate is the same for the calibrated and the thin 15mm - 25mm ?

the project packs contain 15.2m2, where did you see 11.25m2 ?

Have you confused BM with BRM.

I ordered the stuff over the phone from my rep. I ordered by the pack rather than by the m2 be cause I thought I new how many m2 are in a pack and I did ask for calibrated.

In the email I got from Marshalls its states that the stone is non calibrated and the pack sizes are 11.25m2.

I'm hoping that the stone is calibrated but if it isn't is the non calibrated any good?

In this and last years catalogue it shows Buff multi as calibrated. Check your rep hasn't ordered Brown multi which is 15-25mm.
As for the for the pack size maybe last years stock.

this is why i prefer to order Via email/SMS rather than the phone
we had a grands worth of insulation delivered friday and the driver delivered it to 47 instead of 74 (site there too)
luckily we realised and the lads up the road were good but 1 small misunderstanding can cost ya
looks like it can be rectified

I hope I manage to stop the order before it gets loaded Tony and that it doesent cost me.
Marshalls are usually pretty good though so I should be ok.
the other thing is the order is for 3 small patios. 2 at 30m2 and 1 at 15m2.
one is prepped and ready to lay so I'm stuffed for work until I get my stone.
I never start a job unless I know I will be on it until completion. I never job hop. Not fair on the client.
unless I can get this sorted quick I'm giing to be 2-3 weeks behind my schedual.
I've had enough, anyone know of any shelf stacking jobs going?

I think suppliers are taking the piss selling this 15-22/25mm +/- ?mm.

25mm should be the minimum imo. I still lay the 25-40mm hand cut gear.

Still reckon your idm has made a mistake.
Do you price Marshalls products with the merchants as well as direct.
On some products the merchants are cheaper. I've had better prices recently with marshallite walling and tegs with Keyline. I reckon you'd get a better price on the standard with them.

Dempsey makes a good point about the thickness but I could never go back to those hand cuts where it was allways the 900x600s that were 40mm ball breakers

I usually get a price from both Mark but this time I just went direct.
I'm going to have to wait until the morning to see what can be done.
As far as thickness is concerned, 22mm has got to be the minimum. A 15mm 3x2 isn't gonna take much abuse from a mallet.

Wouldn't swear to it but the thinner stones will probably be 280x280and maybe the 560x280 so should not be a problem. If your delivery is 15 to 20mm use them, any future issues are down to Marshalls who must be confident of their product.
I reckon a 15mm sandstone is still harder than a 30mm concrete product anyday. I've been bashing them for years with my lump hammer handle and if there any breakages the slab was already flawed.

The colour is also a concern Mark. What if it is just buff and not buff multi?
As far as I can see they don't do a thin buff multi?

I can see a sleepless night ahead. It's probably all in the context, buff is short for buff multi. It never looks the same as brochure anyway, it's a natural product, remind your customers of this. Do a good job and they'll be chuffed regardless, probably feed you tea and biscuits and give a tip at the end

15mm with a 5mm tolerance. they won't be reclaiming those in 100 years !!
