I am getting to a point where i will need to add the downpipes and hoppers for the rainwater. In the photo below, the 2 RWP in red are existing, the other are new.

This will be my first attempt at extending the rainwater run offs by tapping into exiting hoppers. Am i right that i can tap into existing hoppers?

I think the existing pipe is Clay so i would need a boss connection so i could join it to plastics.Image

I would take them into shallow inspection chambers if depth ( 600 max ) allows, or universal I C if deeper up to 1200. 4D960

Many thanks Sean.

So because we have 2 existing hoppers, do we include 2 inspection drains which exit into each of the 2 hoppers we already have?

Image

Or can i have just 1 inspection chamber but feeding the 3 new hoppers i need to install running back to one of the existing hoppers to run off to?

I could be talking jibberish though.

Thanks sean for your help!

Are they down pipes from roof guttering? You need to connect the existing DP into the new IC which in turn goes into your main run. I'm assuming it goes to a manhole SWMH ?
The cover on these sre dubject to 1.5 tonne loading if done correctly on a plinth. You can always upgrade cover and frame to a 5 or 12.5 tonne for heavier loading. be good to know which way the existing runs.
