Hi

I am looking to get some nustone granite slabs 800mmx200mmx20mm laid on a raised block and beam floor. (Outdoors)

I have found a few local tradesmen who can "have a go" all with different ways and methods of laying them. I'm not too confident with any of them so far.

What is the best way to lay them? Can anyone recommend anyone within the Worcestershire area that is competent to do the work.

Not sure about the block and beam floor but standard laying is full bed/sbr cement slurry on the rear face, clean up sbr as you go, watch out for the silver grey if your using that anything less than a full bed WILL show up hope this helps,
I wish i worked outside...

Cheers

One tradesman said full bed others wanted to use flexi tile adhesive. When I asked how they would get the fall on the slabs they just shrugged their shoulders!!!

Full bed it is then.

The steps are in place the bottom step is approx 4mtrs in length 6 steps narrowing as they go up, Im thinking of keeping the joints in line with the door frame, I had considered staggering them on each step but it wont work, I think straight line of joints will look better. The longer the better as I will have some waste but it will be minimal. Id be looking a G680 type grey granite as there are brush hammered cills in silver/grey granit.
