New blockpaving damaged by a lorry

I've done loads of work on a solid (either lean mix or base tarmac) sub base when I was doing the commercial work Tony.
If it rains before the area your laying is finished it's a pain because it takes longer for the bedding layer to dry out so it can be days on end before you get any kds in the joints and compacted.

On a personal note I prefer laying 50's to 80's. I'm sure my arms are 100mm longer than they were when I was 16 due to laying them feckin things. Especially 80mm tegs.

I've never used any recycled materials as a sub base, not even crushed concrete. I get good millwaste for a few £ more than crush so I can't see the point. I have used a lot of recycled glass for bedding and much prefer it to sharp sand as I find it compacts much better.

In the past Ive taken 32t gross with bitmac across several paved entrances 90% of the time we lay 30mm ply to stop any twisting occuring. The OP s drive looks like a bad sub base or too much sand bed under the paving, also who in there right mind would tip a load of topsoil on paving like this, I'd be chasing the topsoil suppliers. I actually dont feel sorry for anyone whos caught by these travelers anymore there has been enough of bad press about them yet they still get victims to employ them and to pay up.

I've seen guys like this in action. Basic spec is;
Remove existing surfacing 50mm(ish)
Lay woven membrane.
Supply and lay 30mm recycled shit sand.
Supply and lay 50mm plaspave.......
Ensure the 30mm hump at entrance has some bagged Tarmac in front of it.
Cash on completion.
