In the last 2 years we have increasingly come across class B bricks that have failed
they all seem to be the ones with 2 rows of 5 holes
I have contacted ibstock and weineberger and all their current bricks are *F2 S2* basically suitable for all locations
has anyone else seen this?
it all seems to stem from bricks available around 8-12 years ago
here is a prime example
the blue staffs are fine and so is the mortar but the class Bs are completely blown
any ideas?

Maybe it could be freeze thaw as the holes have a tedency not to fill because of the air in them, i would imagine water would seep in the holes. With soldier courses especially, the holes ( maybe ) don't completly fill. Think tiles are used to combat this over the stretcher course. Or maybe not salt resistent ???
