Hi guys, maybe silly question but can't find the answer anyone, Im just about to attempt my first ever paving job and chosen a light coloured (harvest) sawn sandstone, I've read up about laying it and how I should use silver sand and white cement but everywhere I ask for silver sand tell me they only stock kiln dried sand & that's what I want! Can anyone tell me if this is ok to use? Kiln dried sand seems a lot cheaper than the silver sand I have found (wickes 25kg bags) but can't find it in bulk bags anywhere.
Thanks and sorry if this is as stupid a question as I fear it may be!
Hey Mike, would this be our Harvest Sawn Sandstone by any chance? You'll be fine laying this with normal sharp sand and cement. Generally it's just the Portland Limestone that we recommend is installed with river washed sand and white cement.
