hello everyone,

My washing machine waste pipe is currently draining into manhole situated underneath the washing machine. the foul smell is escaping from the opening/entrance right next to manhole frame. the waste pipe is placed through the opening/entrance, I guess that it is not fixed to any trapped gully inside the manhole since I can lift up or move the pipe quite a bit.

However, I am not able to life the manhole cover since it is underneath the fitted washing machine, so I can not see the connection details inside the manhole.

I have looked up information on this forum, it has been eye-opening, but I am not totally understand what I need to do to stop the foul smell. what material should I use to seal waste pipe entrance into manhole or even the manhole cover?

I appreciate for any tips and advice you may offer.

I think you need to get a drainage engineer to take a look and advise you accordingly. Without seeing the problem, there's nothing I can do.
