I thought I would post some pictures of my completed patio project - big thanks to this forum/website for all the help and info! The paving is sawn sandstone put down in a random pattern and I just finished pointing up with VDW840+. I'm planning on a water feature where the hosepipe is and still need to put stones around the edges and render the block wall to finish the whole thing off, but that's next years job now!
Cheers!

Cheers all - I'm about as far from the building trade as you get, I'm a software developer by profession - this job was the first time I'd mixed mortar, definitely holding onto my cement mixer for future projects though; I did the mixing for the blockwork in a wheelbarrow and it was back breaking!
I have thought about sealing but I like the way it changes colour in the rain so I was going to leave it over winter and providing it can be pressure washed clean easily enough I can live with doing that each spring...
The stone was bought online from eBay, I was a bit hesitant but it was good value at around £22/m^2 and it turned out to be of reasonable quality - I ordered plenty though so I could discard any that looked iffy - still have around 10m^2 left so I was planning on doing a path next year.
I can't find the patio pack any more but this is the product in single size by the same supplier in case anyone is interested:
