Alternating pattern

Patio flagstones (slabs), concrete flags, stone flags including yorkstone and imported flagstones.

A site i was on recently the guys where laying the 450/450 and riven flags in one direction. I normally lay them alternating pattern, anyone else do this and which do you think makes for the better effect? I know it's a matter of choice :;):

you mean keeping the molding of the riven all the same?

if so I think its better to mix it up
