Gravel choice for new garden - Gravel selection

Hi,
I moved into a new build and had the usual blank canvas garden. I have removed a lot of the grass and have installed a new patio. The colour being the market stone sahara.
I am now at the stage where I want to gravel round all the borders of the patio and grass and I am having difficulty selecting a gravel for it. I need around 8 tonne and dont want to buy some and decide it doesnt look right.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a nice gravel that would set off this type of sandstone patio? Should I go for a contrast or one that has the same colours in it? I thought about a 20mm grey slate border but would like an experts opinion.

my opinion is grey slate would not look right next to this product as market stone sahara contains a lot of colours within the stone but not grey, I have only seen it on line and not up close if you could post a photo it would be most helpful
I do find when all else fails and you cant find a colour to compliment the patio then white pebbles form a beautiful edge to any paving but they are not cheap and you do require 8 ton

I'm trying to upload a pic but can't figure out how to. I'm being asked for a URL but only have pics on my phone.
The colour grey is included in the patio by the way. There's a mix of oranges, greys, browns and purples. Similar to the ones in this link http://www.mkmbs.co.uk/prodb00....mm-3252

Thanks. I made the bench at work. I do agree with you that I should get some samples or even small bags just to see what they look like. I think I'll do that at the weekend. I thought about plum slate but when the patio was done and there was still type one round the edges, the grey sort of stuck out for me. My initial thoughts were 20mm grey slate but I've also been looking at rose quartz too. Decisions decisions !
