Hi
I'm a newbie to this, or any other forum, so I hope I get the etiquette right.
I have a sizeable new driveway ( about 150 sqm) . As part of a lot of other work I had contractors lay the subbase prior to me block paving it myself. They did a good job, it has a crushed concrete base ( I don't know how thick), topped with a layer of fabric and 150mm of MOT grade one, all well rolled in. It is retained by 2 courses of railway sleepers, spiked in (laid by me).
The problem is that the budget will no longer stretch to block paving, even if I do it myself. The drive has a turning area requiring Maximum lock and I am told that this will drive any gravel into the MOT 1. Even paving the turning area only (85 sqm) is expensive and will leave the rest too deep for gravel. I thought about a cellular system but they are not that cheap and often not that nice. Is it possible to reliably make the plastic disappear ?
Any experience or suggestions welcome

the key to a gravel drive is the right kind of stone
the plastic cells will help but they are expensive
we used some 14mm granite chippings and they are angular and lay fairly flat to drive on
no cells involved
another drive we used 20mm lydd beach gravel and it rolls and ruts all over the place
