Hi
I am about to lay a path 9m along the rear of my house. Is all dug out and hard cored. I am going to use 3x2 concrete slabs. I have read the main site but not sure if I am best to screed using a 10-1 mix or individual bed on a dry 10-1 mix.
Any advice greatly recieved as hoping to do it today.
Thanks
Jon
Laying 3x2 slabs screed or individual bed?

Yea I appreciate they are heavy, was originally going lay a concrete path due to not wanting to lay due to the weight.
The opportunity to get some reclaimed ones for 90p each persuaded me though. They are only for a path to the rear of a house. The house is going to be rented so don't want anything to fancy. Got a labourer with me today so hopefully shouldn't be to bad between the two of us.
Would you screed or lay individual?
Cheers

What a day, labourer didn't turn in and couldn't get hold of him all morning. Managed to get another lad who helps me out sometimes but wasted an hour waiting about. Why can't people just answer the phone and say not coming in rather than just turn phone off!!
Went to collect the 54 slabs turned out they were 600x750 50mm thick. So not as bad as 3x2 but still bloody heavy. Had to handball them on trailer and to be fair you could tell the trailer was on the back estimate must have been close to 2ton.
Started putting the stone in about 1pm whackers down and went for individual bedding on 10-1 sharp sand cement ratio pretty dry mix.
Was only a total of 21 slabs and took till 6 ish by the time had put a concrete haunch around them and another hour to point them. Probably laid the equivalent of 30 slabs as had to do a few twice!
Think I might concrete the front path!!!
Cheers for the advice
