Will I need a bonding bridge for laying black limestone (20mm thick) on a 5:1 wet mortar mix. I hear that it can draw the cement up into the flags if you don't use one.

If you think I do need it can you use something as simple as PVA?

I am having to do the patio myself on a budget so don't want to have to live with a total disaster.

thanks a lot

SBR beats PVA every time

mix it with cement into a slurry and careful paint on the bottoms of your flags as you lay

also add approx 100ml per mix
